Perf..Max…Is… Oh, just let me catch my breath…

Perfmax is a specialized gym that has you suffering through an extreme series of exercises that make you want to curse in every language. This, however, is not the purpose of the training. Our trainer, Jean-Sébastien Langlois, would like us to say that our sessions are designed to make us faster and stronger. The goal is to reach a point where our performances are easy in comparison. This is all very hard to believe when you are pink in the face and trying not to fly off the treadmill.

We began as a group looking to strengthen our movement quality and increase our level of endurance. Be careful what you wish for. The minute the warm-up starts until the very last round of reps, we are propelled into a nonstop workout that tests our every physical and psychological limit. In using a potent mixture of cardio, weight, and core exercises, no one session is ever the same. They evolve as we do.

Moments when we begin to lose faith in humanity (or perhaps just ourselves), we can look for support within the rest of the team. As long as everyone else keeps moving forward, you will never be left behind. This is one of the greatest advantages to training together. We have discovered our individual weaknesses, but have also been inspired by each other’s strengths.
