Katie Philp

There is a stroke of irreproachable to the one that is sure to survive the apocalypse.

Katie Philp, a recent survivor of the apocalypse, was last seen diverting a near deadly zombie ambush away from the members of Interlope. Using a variety of modern dance techniques she zig-zagged her way around them; baffling the ever-so-hungry undead and allowing her friends to escape. Rumour has it that she survived the storm of the apocalypse in a claw-footed bathtub with only a baseball bat to keep her company. Where did she acquire such skills? Let’s have a look at her more civilized beginnings.

Growing up in Calgary, AB Katie would spend her time between dancing in the city during the week and frolicking in the forest on weekends. In 2009 she put her inner wild-child aside and moved to New York City after being accepted into the Independent Study program at The Ailey School. Upon completing the program she spent one year as a freelancer working with  companies in the city such as the Mari Meade Dance Collective and Amalgamate Dance Company. In 2012 her migratory instincts brought her back to Canada and she moved to Montréal.

Katie has been dancing with Interlope for over two years and has taken on responsibilities in administration, promotion, and communication. She hopes one day to be able to master la langue française.
